How to find an Energy Performance Certificate
Search using the property postcode, select the matching address and check that the certificate details belong to the right property.
Search by postcode or address
Use the full postcode where possible. Compare the address carefully where a building contains several flats or units.
Read the result
Check the current energy rating, certificate date and expiry date. A result marked expired is not a current certificate.
Get your report or book an assessment
Get your EPC report for £19.50 when a current certificate exists. If it has expired or is missing, book a new EPC assessment.

How long is an EPC valid?
An EPC is normally valid for 10 years. Check the expiry date on the individual register record.
Do I need an EPC to sell or rent a property?
An EPC is generally required when a property is built, sold or rented, although exemptions can apply. Check current GOV.UK guidance for your circumstances.
How do I get my EPC report?
Search for your property, then select Get report — £19.50. If the certificate is expired or missing, select Book new EPC.
When should I book a new EPC?
Consider booking an assessment when no certificate can be found, the existing EPC has expired, or a current certificate is required for a sale or letting.
