EPCs for selling or renting a property
An EPC is generally needed when a property is built, sold or rented, subject to exemptions. Start by checking whether a current certificate already exists.
Search before booking
A valid certificate may already be on the register. Confirm the address and expiry date so you do not arrange an unnecessary assessment.
If it is missing or expired
Book a new assessment when the property requires a certificate and no current record can be found.
